The books in special collections are so unique, and made by students. They are made from different materials, with different types of papers used, and even different concepts that make you question what the definition of a book is. My favorite one is Bon Bon Mots, a book made to look like a box of chocolates. When you open it, you can interact with it and are able to read the different things that are held within. It's inspiring and I want to take what I saw this time to my next semester in books arts.

343 Project 4
The definition of propaganda is biased information used to publicize a political cause or point of view. One of the ways the government does this is through the media. We are not shown the entire picture, but only what we are allowed to see. The person has the head of a television because our minds are flooded with propaganda daily. The city represents the government and it's hold on us, and the thought bubble represents what we are supposed to think. It is stamped onto a pillow as this is something we are sold, or advertised. It is two different colors because there are some on the dark side (like the government) that like propaganda, and the lighter side that do not. Not only that, but the pillow is red white and blue, symbolizing America.

343: Project 2
Resistance/Struggle/Obstruction
My first piece, on resistance and struggle, shows a boy, fighting out of his depression. The words say, "You think you own the best of me, and control my life's destiny, I'll fight until you're sad to see, you'll never have the rest of me." When it comes to depression, it is a constant struggle, but resisting the urge to let it control you is how you survive.

343: Reading 1 Questions
- Is there any type of correlation between troubled individuals and art creating a positive impact in their lives?
- Who is the most famous mixed media artist and what is their most well known work?
- Is he stating that he woke up from the idea that reality was a dream? Or is he explaining that he thinks politically so he cannot see things otherwise?
- Is everything political because it can be/hhas been advertised in some way or another?
- "Where there is resistance, there is power", "Where there is power, there is resistance". When they say that resistance is helpful in order to understand power, are they saying that to have resistance towards the evils in life?
- Does the first question refer to everyday resistance because it is something we deal with everyday in life?
